How to Renew a DHCP-Assigned IP Address Configuration
For a Specific Adapter
Step 1: Release the IP Address
Open Command Prompt (as administrator). Type ipconfig release and press Enter. The IP address will show 0000, indicating that it has been released.
Step 2: Renew the IP Address
To renew the IP address for a specific adapter, type ipconfig renew adaptername. For example, to renew the IP address for the Local Area Connection, type ipconfig renew "Local Area Connection".
Step 3: Check the New IP Address
When the renewal is successful, you will see an output similar to the ipconfig command, displaying your new IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.
