Jackrabbits look to unseat NDSU as Top Dog FCS Team
The FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll was released on Monday, July 18th, and the South Dakota Jackrabbits were picked 5th in the nation after making a run to the FCS semifinals last spring.
SDSU is coming off a 10-3 season in which they won the Missouri Valley Football Conference championship and advanced to the FCS semifinals for the first time in school history.
The Jackrabbits return a lot of talent from that team, including quarterback Mark Gronowski, running back Isaiah Davis, and wide receiver Landon Wolf.
Gronowski threw for 2,598 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, while Davis rushed for 1,326 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Wolf was a First Team All-American last season after catching 68 passes for 1,092 yards and 15 touchdowns.
South Dakota will open the season on September 3rd at home against Drake.

The Jackrabbits are one of three MVFC teams in the top 10, joining North Dakota State (No. 1) and Southern Illinois (No. 7).
The FCS regular season begins on August 27th, and the playoffs start on November 26th.
The FCS Championship Game will be played on January 8th, 2023, in Frisco, Texas.
